On Valentine’s Day 2014, a group of sexual minority citizens held a kissing protest entitled “To Russia with Love” in front of the Russian Embassy in Beijing.
They celebrated Valentine’s Day, requested the Russian government to revoke their anti-LGBT “propaganda law”, and expressed the hope that China will improve the situation for citizens subject to discrimination because of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation.
