The first Phoenix Awards for Documentary, organized by Phoenix Video, held its Awards Ceremony on November 2 at the Beijing Pioneer Theatre. “Mama Rainbow”, directed by Queer Comrades’ guest director Fan Popo, was nominated in the category “Best Micro-documentary”. The “Mama Rainbow” nomination for the Phoenix Awards for Documentary marked the first time that a queer independent documentary entered the mainstream media.
