In the evening of 6 January, Guangdong TVS broadcasted the TV program “City Search” which held a special report entitled “Survey of Sex amongst Male Gays born after 1980 in Guangzhou”. In the program, journalists baited gay men and engaged in subjective and one-sided interviewing to report on them. The program started by citing the increasing HIV infection rate among gay college students, and ended up by claiming that students are addicted to promiscuity and one night stands, an addiction they satisfy through apps such as Blued and Jack’d.
