In the second China Rainbow Media Awards media training, participants were assisted by the trainers to design a campaign surrounding the legal change allowing lesbians to donate blood. Their campaign gained rapid momentum among lesbian communities.
On 1 July, lesbians in Shenyang, Guangzhou, Beijing, Wuhan and Zhengzhou, took part in the “Proud to Give Lesbian Blood” Campaign. They decided to make July the “National Lesbian Blood Donation Pride Month” which kick-started lesbian blood donations around the country.
